PUT YOUR HAND IN HIS

' T was the night before Christmas

Here in our fox hole.

Rain was coming down

We were shivering and cold.

Not only were we shivering

And cold and all were scared.

We began to wonder if

Back home, anyone really cared.

We dreamed of being back home

With each of our families.

All comfy and warm with our

Family and Christmas trees .

When all of a sudden

A bomb exploded near by .

It blinded our eyes

We wanted to cry .

The sound of the bomb

was deafening and loud.

Then we heard a sweet

Voice from out of a cloud.

The voice said have no fear

Trust in me for I am with you.

You only need trust me

And I'll see you through.

It was for all of you that I died

It said, so you could be free.

Now you are here fighting

So your country always can be.

With all of the mud and debris.

A star came shining down on us there

As we hovered under, it was then that

We realized there is someone who cares.

We all fell on our faces

And we all prayed aloud.

Dear God, of America

We’ll always be proud.

We all love our freedom

And our great precious land.

To keep it forever free

Is why we have taken this stand.

Lord, on this cold lonely night

We know as the eve of your birth.

We are ever so thankful our

heavenly father gave us this earth .

From that point on through

The rest of that very cold night.

The shells flew around us

But among us you could see no fright.

We had a visit from our Lord from above

Also with him was the most beautiful dove.

They came to comfort us in this foreign land

And all through the night we held to his hand.

We’ll fight to the finish,

As we fight for our precious land.

We’ll be ever so grateful to you

For letting us hold, your nail scarred hand.
